Visit Louisiana

LOUISIANA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART is a leading international museum of modern art. Located on the coast it strikes that rarest of balances between landscape, architecture, and art in a unique interaction that attracts visitors from around the world and makes a visit special throughout the year.

The museum, located 25 miles north of Copenhagen, boasts a panoramic view of the Sound, presents approx. ten exhibitions annually and has a distinguished collection of modern and contemporary art. Louisiana is also a vibrant meeting place and centre for cultural events.

Enjoy the special Danish summer evenings with our generous opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday 11-23. Sunday 11-18 (Monday closed)

Please note, that you must book a timeslot before arriving at the museum. There are currently many visitors, therefor we recommend arriving afternoon/evening if possible.

BOOK TIME SLOTS BUY TICKETS

Louisiana has introduced a policy of assigning time slots for your arrival. We have done so in order to avoid long queues by the entrance and ensure that the number of guests is spread out evenly throughout the day. There are currently many visitors, therefore we recommend arriving afternoon/evening if possible. Time slots are free of charge. Note that the time selected indicates only the interval in which your visit starts. You can stay as long as you like.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • First, select the date and time for your visit on the calendar. The calendar is the first green box saying "vælg først dato/ tid her til: timeslot". At this point, you have probably noticed that the booking system is currently only in Danish. We are working on an English version at the moment and are sorry for the inconvenience.
  • After choosing the date and time, you can add the desired number of time slots with the relevant tickets to the basket. If you already have tickets or membership, please select "Timeslot + Fri". If you need an entrance ticket with your time slot select "Timeslot + Entrebillet". If you're a member and bringing a guest select "Timeslot + Gæstebillet" and if you're a student please select "Timeslot + Studiebillet".
  • Fill in the delivery address. The timeslots and tickets will be sent to the specified email address.
  • Proceed to completion/payment. A payment window will appear if you have selected the admission ticket.

Thank you for your patience and please note you are naturally able to buy tickets and reserve time slots directly at the museum. We look forward to your visit. If you come by train, you must also remember to purchase a seat ticket for the Coastal Railway before starting your journey.
