Louisiana Publications

Through the years, Louisiana has published catalogues, books and booklets. With the different series Louisiana Library, Louisiana Revy and Louisiana Magazine including the other publications related to the museum, Louisiana is one of the largest art publishers in Denmark. Louisiana — Architecture and Landscape by Michael Sheridan

The American architect and expert of modern Nordic architecture Michael Sheridan tells the story of the museum's creation — and of how Louisiana has grown in keeping with the art of its times and the vision of the museum's founder, Knud W. Jensen. Today, everyone wants to be like the museum in Humlebæk — but how did Louisiana become Louisiana?

ABRAMOVIć & ANDERSEN
THE UGLY DUCKLING

In connection to the museum's presentation of Marina Abramović in 2017, the artist created a series of illustrations for Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale from 1843. Abramović has interpreted Andersen's story with pencil and colour crayon drawings, and the new illustrated version of The Ugly Duckling has been subtitled 'A Fairytale of Transformation and Beauty'.

 The English translation of Andersen’s fairy tale from is by Jean Hersholt (1949).

HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN & YAYOI KUSAMA
THE LITTLE MERMAID

Following Louisiana's Kusama exhibition Yayoi Kusama and the museum in collaboration produced this new, illustrated edition of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Little Mermaid. The illustrations are taken from Kusamas series Love Forever from 2004-2007, supplemented with a few new drawings.

The interaction between the classic fairy tale and Kusamas drawings open for new readings and a current understanding of the depth of the Hans Christian Andersen's knowledge of human nature.

A GUIDE TO THE MUSEUM

Louisiana Guide is an introduction to the museum’s history, architecture, collections, exhibitions and other activities. The guide is written by Louisiana’s director, Poul Erik Tøjner, and is richly illustrated. 

The guide is published in seven languages: Danish / English / German / Swedish / Spanish / Japanese / Chinese

LOUISIANA LIBRARY

LOUISIANA LIBRARY is a book series about modern art history based on the museum's collection. To date, three titles in the series have been published, the first on the museum's Sculpture Park, written by curator Helle Crenzien, the other on Asger Jorn, written by Helle Brøns, and the third on German Art in the Museum Colllection written by Professor Siegfried Gohr.
Additional Louisiana Library titles are planned.
