Louisiana partners and sponsors

Louisiana is a private museum that receives state support. But the bulk of the museum’s economy is obtained from earnings, partners, sponsors, and support from foundations such as A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal, Augustinus Fonden, C.L. Davids Fond og Samling, Realdania and The New Carslberg Foundation.

Louisiana would not be able to exist without their dedication and generosity. It is support from outside that makes it possible to preserve Louisiana with the special qualitative status the museum has won over the years in terms of both collection and exhibitions.

Being a partner or sponsor of Louisiana means entering into a vital collaboration with the institution, with respect for general arm’s-length principles and a desire to use the facilities at the museum which are typical of Louisiana.

Headquartered in Zurich and Basel, UBS is a global firm providing financial services to private, corporate and institutional clients. UBS has a rich history of actively supporting cultural and artistic endeavors, with a focus on promotion, collection and educational activities in the world of contemporary art.

UBS has an extensive art sponsorship portfolio, at the center of which are its partnership with the prestigious Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation launched in April 2012 and its long-term support for the premier international art fairs Art Basel in Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong.

Art Basel and its sister events in Miami Beach and Hong Kong each feature between 250 - 300 leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. All three annual events showcase works from approximately 2,000 artists, ranging from the great masters of modern art to the latest generation of emerging stars.

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and UBS collaborate on the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative. This ambitious five-year long initiative seeks to identify and support a network of art, artists and curators from South and Southeast Asia; Latin America; and the Middle East and North Africa, in a comprehensive program involving curatorial residencies, acquisitions for the Guggenheim’s collection, international touring exhibitions, and far-reaching educational activities.

The UBS global art sponsorship activities are complemented by several regional platforms and partnerships. These include the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, Wolfsberg Arts Forums and the Fondation Beyeler in Switzerland and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney. UBS has also sponsored numerous exhibitions at leading museums around the world.
UBS is itself an avid collector of contemporary art, boasting a significant collection of paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, video art and sculptures by talented artists from the 1960s onwards that is widely recognized as being one of the most important corporate contemporary art collections in the world.

As a longtime art collector, UBS recognizes that buying, owning and selling art entails certain risks and calls for a certain level of expertise. As such, it has established the UBS Art Competence Center, which provides in-depth expert know-how and advisory support on art-related matters to clients and their advisors. The UBS Arts Forum provides clients and special guests with exclusive opportunities to participate in conversations about contemporary art, engaging with internationally renowned artists, museum leaders and art market authorities.
