Karl Ove Knausgård

The conversation was—among other things—about writing their autobiographical novels where you "have to proceed even though you feel the danger."

A LITERARY SUMMIT BETWEEN CUBA AND CHINA
In 2015 one the highlights was a moving conversation between two great novelists from Cuba and China, Leonardo Padura and Yan Lianke, who met for the first time on stage. Among other things they shared their views of each other’s socialist countries. “When I hear Cuba being called China’s brother it makes sense,” Lianke said and added that his feelings for the country run deep. Watch the conversation in Louisiana Channels video.
Joyce Carol Oates
"How Could I Forgive?"
In 2014 the interview with German-Romanian author and Nobel Prize Laureate, Herta Müller, was one of the festival’s highly moving experiences. Watch the conversation with Müller in its entirety here, where she touches upon growing up during Ceausescu's dictatorship in Romania and the difficulties of forgiveness and reconciliation with a regime.
