The Louisiana Cafe has one of Denmark’s most beautiful panoramic views over the Øresund to the coast of Sweden. During the warmer months, guests can enjoy both the food and the view on the large Calder Terrace outside the Cafe.
The kitchen offers contemporary Danish cuisine prepared with fresh seasonal produce. Try the delicious buffet either for lunch or supper – there’s a new menu every week. If your appetite is more modest, there are choice open-faced sandwiches with homemade cold cuts and toppings.
WOHLERT DESIGN RELAUNCH
Timed with Louisianas 60th anniversary a series of aesthetic improvements and refurbishments are currently taking place to further link the present museum to the original intentions. The Louisiana Cafe e.g. will be refurnished with a re-edition of both the original Louisiana Chair and Louisiana Lamp from 1958, designed by one of the museum’s architects Vilhelm Wohlert (1920-2007).
The museum is also launching a special anniversary selection of Louisiana Design objects that the founder of the museum commissioned from Vilhelm Wohlert in connection with the opening. The chair and design objects are now sale in the Louisiana Butik (the lamp can pre-ordered and will be for sale late 2018/early 2019).

On selected Friday evenings, the Café is converted to a lounge scene with pop, jazz, folk, electronic or other contemporary lounge sounds. The atmosphere is informal and intimate, with room for both musical pleasures and good conversation.
