WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?
Works from the Louisiana Collection
This summer presentation of works from Louisiana’s collection tells the story of how and what we see when looking at art. On show in the West Wing and comprising six themes, this presentation boasts a number of remarkable recent acquisitions by George Condo, Sam Gilliam, Wolfgang Tillmans and David Hockney.
Comprising some 90 works the presentation What Are You Looking At? seeks to highlight aspects of what the Louisiana is. The six themes touch on e.g. nature, colour strategies, performative aspects and unreality as reality. Artworks are combined in ways that reveal new affinities, while showcasing art practices that have been attracting particular attention in recent years – and with which the museum has engaged through its collection and exhibitions.
In the cinema downstairs one can watch Louisiana Channel films featuring many of the artists on show.
