Louisiana Channel is the virtual "wing" of the museum containing an incomparable and ever growing collection of videoes. Here we invite you to explore 750 portraits of and interviews with the most prominent and interesting artists, writers, architects etc of our time. This part of the museum is open 24/7 and access is free.
Louisiana Channel was launched in 2012 and has since evolved into an important and internationally recognized global platform presenting videos about art and culture. Though drawing on the Louisiana museum's wide network, Channel from the outset was conceived as an indenpendant project with a wider scope. "We have always regarded Louisiana Channel as a public service media including something more and something else than a digital extension of the exhibitions," explains Louisiana director, Poul Erik Tøjner adding:
"We produce culture and we document the arts in dialogue with the artists – to a growing global audience. In the course of very few years, Louisiana Channel has become a huge and unequalled documentary project. In this way, we maintain a strong tradition of mediation whilst at the same time thoroughly engaging in a new and changing media picture.”
Louisiana Channel is ever growing with two new videos added every week. The project is realized through generous support from the following Danish foundations: Nordea-Fonden, Dreyers Fond, C. L. Davids Fond & Samling, A.P. Møller Fonden and Louisiana Fonden.
