The World Goes Pop Art movement, life style, mega trend: without comparison POP is the movement that has most markedly imprinted our modern world with visual impresssions. Jessica Morgan from Tate Modern Gallery in London will put in perspective the unbelievable Pop success story – from its kindling in London 60 years ago till the global phenomenon, it is today.
Tate Modern is currently preparing a gigantic pop manifestation for 2015 marking the 60th Anniversary of the birth of Pop in London. Jessica Morgan is responsible for the exhibit. She will be paying Louisiana a visit and tell us about her work and put into perspective the Pop movement. Her lecture The World Goes Pop is the story of global phenomenon that began in London, unfolded in the US, and later on spread to the entire world – and, hence, in many ways forms a frame of reference and a cohesive of sorts binding together the modern world.
Jessica Morgan is Daskaloupulos curator at Tate Modern and an International capacity in the arts world. She was recently appointed head of the Gwangju Biennale 2014 in South Korea – the first and most prestigious Biennale for contemporary art in Asia. ( in English)
