Education

School groups are very welcome at Louisiana. However, all groups must book ahead. Here you can find out how to book a visit to the museum, read information on Louisiana educational approach and learn about Louisiana’s programmes for schools and teachers.

Louisiana collection of modern and contemporary art features work by Alberto Giacometti, Andy Warhol, Henry Moore, Asger Jorn, Louise Bourgeois, Tal R and Pipilotti Rist.

Through tours, workshops and lively talks led by gallery educators, pupils can explore their own responses to art works and increase their understanding of Danish and international art.

 We aim to
* use personal experience as a starting point to engage with art
* develop critical, conceptual and analytical skills
* use discussion and debate to share ideas
* develop knowledge and understanding to inspire practical activities

All Louisiana led sessions will involve encountering art works, looking, questioning and formulating responses. Our sessions are dialogue-based and take place in the exhibition area, where the pupils make sketches. In the 2 hours sessions we continue with workshops in our educational media centre in the Children's Wing.
